I am running for Chickasaw City Council Place 2. Thank you for taking the time to learn about me. I was born November 5, 1953, in Jasper, Alabama, which is the county seat for Walker County. My family originates from a small town just south of Jasper known as Oakman. I now reside in the Chickasaw area. My grandfathers were coal miners and my father retired from U.S. Steel, having worked in the Fairfield, Alabama plant for 35 years. My grandmothers and mother were homemakers. I have one brother four years my junior who is also an attorney.
I have been practicing law for the past 27 years. I have tried cases involving every major felony including Capital Murder. I have argued cases on appeal before the Alabama Supreme Court and Court of Civil Appeals. I am admitted to practice before all Federal Courts in Alabama; United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. I also served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Alabama. I have served on the boards of the Salvation Army, Y.M.C.A., and Chickasaw Historic Society. I have also served as vice-president of the Chickasaw Chamber of Commerce.
My wife and I currently reside at 214 3rd Street in Chickasaw, Alabama.
